MacCast: Unconventional Podcast

MacCast Podcast

No one ever said that a career journey has to be a straight line. For some, the journey is full of unexpected turns, surprising opportunities and a few roadblocks. And since McMaster has more than 200,000 alumni, there are more than a few stories about taking the road less travelled between graduation and career success. The MacCast – Unconventional, a new podcast series, features more than half a dozen of these stories, all told by the alumni themselves. Every story is unique, intriguing and showcases that in life, where you think you’re going might not be where you end up. One thing remains common in each of the stories told: their connection to McMaster proved to be more valuable than any of them ever thought. Welcome Notes

Do you remember your first day at Mac? Every September, the next generation of McMaster students prepare to join this amazing community. They'll be overwhelmed and excited for the next four years of university life – and they could use your encouragement. Think back to how you felt at that age – starting a new phase of life, unsure about what to expect and maybe more than a bit terrified – and use the benefit of your experiences since to offer some support... We’re hoping to get as many upper-year student, alumni, staff/faculty, and retirees as possible to write a short note of encouragement and advice, so we can send one note to every incoming first-year student. Participation only requires a few minutes of your time and you could win 1 of 10 SnackMagic boxes, where you will have $50 to fill your box with all the treats of your choice! Stay tuned and be sure to check your inbox for an email in August 2023 to submit your note.
