1. I’m using my business credit card to make this donation. Do I enter the full Business name in the name section?
A. Yes, Canada Revenue states that the official tax receipt must be issued to the company that the credit card belongs to.
2. I didn’t print my receipt at the same time I make the donation. How do I print it at a later date?
A. A confirmation email was sent when the gift was made. Go into your email and follow the link to re-print a PDF copy of your receipt.
3. I work at the University and want to donate to my department. Is that okay?
A. It is okay to donate to the department that you work in at the University as long as you are not the signing authority for the account that you are donating to.
4. I collected $50 cash from a group of people to support McMaster University. Can I use my personal credit card and put this $50 donation on the McMaster Alumni site?
A. Yes, as long as you specify Group Collection in the name field, so that the tax receipt is issued under Group collection instead of your name.
