Women's Series - Improve Pelvic Floor Health with S Louden & K Parise

Conversations with comfortable topics are easily discussed, but there are topics that are equally important that are rarely discussed because they cause embarrassment. This month during our Women’s Series we are going to discuss one of those uncomfortable topics.

POTENTIAL SQUIRMISH WARNING AHEAD - THE PELVIC FLOOR

Regardless of how much we’ve have trained, how many babies we’ve had, or how old we are, many women experience incontinence, especially during physical activity. While using Pilates or Kegels can help there is still more that can be done to help strengthen the pelvic floor.

Join us as Sharlene Louden of Louden Kinetics and Kirsten Parise of Parise PT discuss pelvic floor health in an informal and interactive session. Learn what causes dysfunctional pelvic floor muscles and more importantly what strengthening programs have been shown to cure incontinence and why these pelvic health physiotherapy programs work. Never worry about jumping again!

Sharlene Louden graduated from McMaster with a Bachelor of Kinesiology and is a registered kinesiologist with over 19 years in the health and fitness industry. Over the years she has teamed up with wonderful mentors and educators to help deliver up to date evidence based exercises through her company Louden Kinetics.

Kristen Parise has been a physiotherapist for over 15 years working in many settings including hospitals, children’s treatment centres, outpatient clinics and in home care. She currently has her own physiotherapy practices in Dundas. She has a Masters degree in Exercise Physiology and a Bachelor of Health Science in Physiotherapy from McMaster University. Kristen has also trained as a Pelvic Health Physiotherapist and is passionate about providing exceptional, evidenced based care.
