In this Lager Lecture Online, Dr. Michael Amlung will examine the psychological and neurobiological basis of addictive disorders, with an emphasis on alcohol and cannabis misuse.  He will be joined by Jillian Halladay, a mental Health nurse at McMaster Children’s Hospital and a PHD student in Health Research Methodology. Her area of interest is cannabis misuse among youth and emerging adults, and it’s associations with mental health disorders

Dr. Michael Amlung is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurosciences, a core faculty member in the Peter Boris Centre for Addictions Research, and Director of the Cognitive Neuroscience of Addictions Laboratory (CNALab).

Jillian Halladay is a Registered Nurse and current Ph.D. student in McMaster's Health Research Methodology program. She has been an R.N. on the Child and Youth Mental Health Inpatient Unit at McMaster Children's Hospital for 4.5 years and focuses her research on youth mental health and substance use, which is funded by a CIHR Doctoral Research Training award.
